    1. What makes Hashtag Music Academy different from typical music schools?

We follow a conservatory-inspired, structured approach for gifted and talented, musically inclined students in one-on-one instrument classes and theory/solfeggio group classes. All classes are taught by professionally trained and experienced stage musicians. Peer schools in the area are good at giving students surface-level music learning experiences while we are great at offering international-level depth into music enrichment. At Hashtag Music Academy in Princeton our teachers have the expertise and creativity to solve roadblocks and plateaus in student’s journeys like a science. The methods and way-of-thinking that top mentors in the industry taught us while we were gifted and talented students will be passed on to future students to bring out their best. You should see, hear, and feel the quality performance difference. Students study not only their instrument, but also musicianship, listening skills, theory, and performance preparation. Our goal is long-term musical development that is retained in student’s muscle memory long after they stop performing the way swimming skills does. Then playing an instrument can be a fallback skill or enrichment activity later in students’ lives.

    3. Who are your teachers?

Since teachers can change, and we want to make Hashtag Music Academy about students and results, we do not offer specifics about each teacher on our website. Our curriculum structure and the smart students who sign up attract the most professionally trained performance musicians as their teachers who themselves attended top conservatories or universities. Our modern conservatory style instruction and the Princeton, Montgomery, West Windsor New Jersey area location enabled us to create an inner circle of excellence amongst teachers and students. We have teachers who are experts in piano, violin, guitar, and voice. We do not offer classes on other instruments as there is low demand for them. When we see significant demand from clients for complimentary instruments, we may consider adding them and opening them up to offer the community in the future.
